There's Two Sides To Every Story

Frequently people send me items through e-mail that they have read elsewhere and want to share with me their discovery of knowledge, insight or humor. Most of them are of a humorous vein but occasionally there will be one that purports to be humorous but actually contains a great deal of truth.

Such is the case with the following. I initially thought I wouldn't post it because of a reference to sex but after giving due consideration to the world in which we live, I concluded that it should not be overly offensive. Most members of my generation still watches its language around women and children because that's the way we were "raised" and it likely will never change. What has changed is the definition of "women" and "children". For anyone who is offended by the reference to sex in this article, I would strongly recommend that they not turn on the TV, listen to the radio or go to the local super market. The most important thing is for readers to understand is that no offense is intended. I have no evidence that any females frequent this site but I do know that a 10 year old does. He probably finds this entire subject matter laughable.

Here goes.

Her Side Of The Story

He was in an odd mood when I got to the bar. I thought it might have been because I was a bit late but he didn't say anything much about it. The conversation was quite slow going so I thought we should go off somewhere more intimate so we could talk more privately. We went to this restaurant and he was still acting a bit funny.

I tried to cheer him up and started to wonder if it was me or something else. I asked him and he said no. But I wasn't really sure. So anyway, in the car on the way back to the house, I said that I love him and he just put his arm around me.

I didn't know what the hell that meant because, you know, he doesn't say it back or anything. We finally got home and I was wondering if he was going to dump me. So I tried to ask him about it and he just switched on the tv. Reluctantly, I said I was going to go to bed. Then after about 10 minutes he joined me and we had sex.

But he still seemed really distracted, so afterwards, I just wanted to leave but I cried myself to sleep. I just don't know what he thinks anymore. I mean, do you think he has met someone else?

His Side Of The Story

The Tar Heels lost, felt tired, got laid though and went to sleep.

The article I received had the couple living together but not married so they had them going in a cab to HIS house. Also, the reference to "wanting to leave" has more likelihood of happening if one is in a relationship rather than being legally married. There ARE some differences. The changes were made because I think most viewers are near or are nearing my age and the married situation seems more like reality to us. It's one of those things I will never know.
