One More Time

I have been pleased with most aspects of the RamFanatic web site since it's inception but there are a couple of areas that could use some improvement.

First, I appointed Mrs. RamFanatic Food Editor and she has done absolutely nothing. As good as she can cook, it is beyond me why she won't share some of her recipes with others. Maybe it's a cook thing. I've been told that all the well known chefs are insulted if you ask for their "secret recipes". Oh, they have some they are willing to throw out to the masses but you can safely bet these recipes are not their specialties. The most frustrating thing about Mrs. RamFanatic is that I can hardly fire or discipline her for obvious reasons plus the fact that I don't know where to find a replacement. I guess I thought when I came up with the food section that we would get more input from viewers than we have. I would appoint a committee to study the problem except I don't have anybody I can appoint to the Committee except Leroy, the Tar Heel Terror and he's not about to do anything that will reflect adversely on Mrs. RamFanatic. To be continued.

The second thing that needs some attention is the lack of communication of any kind with viewers. If I didn't have the counter I think I would assume that practically nobody is visiting the web site. The counter shows otherwise and viewer ship seems to be picking up lately for some unknown reason. We missed our target of 5,000 visits by April 14th ( 6 mos.) but not by much. Our new target is 10,000 viewers by Oct. 14th ( 1 year ) and I think we have a pretty good chance of meeting this goal.

I fully recognize the problems associated with generating interaction with viewers but as with the Va. License Plate Project, I am not going to give up. I have been told by numerous people that my perseverance on that project was responsible for it's success. As I told the lady at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, " I'm not going away".

So let's try it one more time. I would like to see if we can develop a RamFanatic UNC All Star Football Team consisting of those persons who have either visited the web site or I have talked with personally since the web site began. I have used the names I am aware of and started to develop the team which I list below. Where I need your help is in filling the vacant slots. This can be done by e-mail either with the name of a former player whom you know has visited the site ( could be you ), identification of someone whom you know has visited the site, or names and telephone numbers of former players that can be contacted.

I have had to take some liberties in forming the team but that's why coaches get paid what they do. You play with the hand you are dealt and that hand changes from time to time.

O.K. here is the RamFanatic UNC All Star Team.

LE Paul Severin- 2 time All-American

LT LG Bill Span- 4 yr. reserve

C Todd Weeks-reserve linebacker

RG Fred Swearingen-All ACC

RT Ted Elkins- 4 yr letterman

RE Bob Cox- Justice era-

FG and EP kicker

QB/BB- Dick Bunting-starting HB

HB Charlie Justice-nuff said

HB Mike Voight- who can forget

FB Ken Willard-everybody's favorite

If I had a LT, I would have a complete team. Once this team, which we will call the Offensive team, is completed, we can form a defensive team.

So let's give it a try. It oftentimes gets lonely here at the keyboard and this could create some excitement if you will join with me to form the team. If I don't hear from you, I may have to stand on the sidelines and talk with members of Justice era teams when they are honored at the SMU game. Please don't make me do that.

I almost forgot the radio announcers and they are:

Bill Currie and Woody Durham
